(YANKTON PRESS & DAKOTAN) The Yankton Press & Dakotan reports, "Changes to the federal flood map for the area have left some residents feeling like they are under water.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is undertaking a nationwide effort to redraw flood plains and better identify areas that are at risk for flooding. The process began in Yankton County last April with public hearings about the proposed new map, which would expand the flood plain.
That new map will take effect this July."
