(OMAHA WORLD-HERALD) The Omaha World-Herald reports, "As a surge of dirty floodwater works its way down streams in eastern Nebraska, it is leaving a mess of soggy towns, disrupted roads, broken dams and health threats.
'You fight the water at the beginning, and after it's gone through and done its damage you have to deal with the aftermath,' said Faythe Petersen, a regional emergency manager in northeast Nebraska, where the Elkhorn River had yet to fully crest Monday."
