"Nitrates in public water a big worry"

(YORK NEWS-TIMES) The York News-Times reports, "Federal and state regulations set the nitrate-nitrogen concentrations in public water supplies at 10 parts per million (ppm). Nitrate-nitrogen levels above 10 ppm are potentially hazardous to infants and other individuals at risk.

In response to concerns about elevated nitrate levels in district groundwater, the entire district is designated a Ground Water Quality Management Area for Quality."
