(OMAHA WORLD-HERALD) The Omaha World-Herald reports, "Nebraska water issues generally focus on agriculture. But the quality of drinking water is a concern for the state’s cities and water systems. Regulations have quadrupled over the past 20 years, said Mike Hulquist, who manages the City of Alliance water system. He spoke Thursday at the 10th annual Upper Niobrara White Natural Resources District water issues meeting, held at the Alliance American Legion Club. 'When I came on board 20 years ago, we were required to test for about 22 contaminants, Hulquist said, “and that number has risen to 154 contaminants.'"
