(YANKTON PRESS & DAKOTAN) The Yankton Press & Dakotan reports, "For the first time in more than a decade, the spillway gates at Gavins Point Dam were opened Monday to allow the release of 1,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs). U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials say they plan to increase that amount by 1,000 cfs every other day during the next two weeks.
It’s the first time since 1999 that the spillway gates have been opened to allow water to flow."
