"Planned five-year, $5 million project will offer incentives to retire irrigation"

(KEARNEY HUB) The Kearney Hub reports, "The Lower Republican Natural Resources District has been awarded nearly $1 million in federal funds to invest in water conservation measures, including incentives to retire irrigated acres.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Friday that 28 projects across the nation, including three in Nebraska, will receive $19.7 million in USDA funds this fiscal year through the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service."
