"CNPPID officials say wet year filled lake, didn’t solve water supply issues"

(KEARNEY HUB) The Kearney Hub reports "The line representing 2010 Lake McConaughy inflows on a graph Civil Engineer Cory Steinke showed the Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District Board of Directors Monday looks like a child’s drawing of a mountain.

The “A” shape includes a steep line to a June peak, representing the unusually high snowmelt and runoff in the North Platte Basin. Lake inflows totaled around 690,000 acre-feet in June.

The downward line on the other side of the peak drops at a similarly sharp angle, marking the end of irrigation season and lake inflows that now are below the seasonal average."
