CPNRD board OKs amended budget with lower-than-advertised property tax asking

(KEARNEY HUB) Kearney Hub quotes "GRAND ISLAND — A budget requiring about $9,000 less in property taxes for fiscal year 2016-2017 was approved Thursday by the Central Platte Natural Resources District Board of Directors. The total requirement of $6,106,675 includes $4.84 million for the general fund and $1.26 million for the sinking fund.
The proposed budget that was advertised had a property tax increase of nearly $213,000, but that was changed at Thursday’s meeting in Grand Island when an amendment recommended by the Budget Committee was approved."
