"Colorado farmers compete with cities for limited, high-priced water rights"

(KEARNEY HUB) The Kearney Hub reports "Nebraska farmers who are frustrated by irrigation allocations and by urban neighbors who don't know that agriculture is the state's No. 1 industry might feel better about their circumstances after talking to some country cousins in Colorado.

"Agriculture doesn't rule in Colorado anymore as it does in Nebraska ...," said Brad Wind of the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District at Berthoud. "Do we want to have agriculture in Colorado in 50 years? To me, that's the question."
