"Irrigation season ending for some"

(OMAHA WORLD-HERALD) The Omaha World-Herald reports "In recent years, there would be no question that the irrigation season was ending by early September. In fact, for several years, water deliveries stopped in mid August. This year has a totally different ending. High snowmelt runoff in the Rocky Mountains, combined with plentiful early season rain, resulted in low demands, leaving plenty of water in the North Platte River reservoir system.

Now, when irrigation would be ending in a "normal" year, the area's irrigation districts are going their own ways when it comes to setting shut-off dates."
