(OMAHA WORLD-HERALD) The Omaha World-Herald reports "The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday that it has approved an update to water quality standards for Nebraska streams and lakes.
The EPA approval was at least two years in the making. The standards are updated at least every three years.
John DeLashmit, EPA regional chief of water quality, said this latest upgrade will improve water protection without having a significant impact on business or agriculture."
