(KEARNEY HUB) The Kearney Hub reports "Nebraska natural resources districts blocked from getting basic cropland information from their local U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency offices will continue to seek more open records through the U.S. Court of Appeals.
The Grand Island-based Central Platte NRD leads a coalition of NRDs seeking FSA information — names and addresses of a property’s owner and operator, field location, irrigation status and crops planted — to help update NRD databases.
At Thursday’s Central Platte meeting, Lincoln attorney Tom Willmoth said U.S. District Court Judge Warren Urbom ruled against the NRDs."
