(NORTH PLATTE TELEGRAPH) The North Platte Telegraph reports, "Repair work on Lake Maloney Dam is scheduled to begin next week and according to Nebraska Public Power District officials, construction will go around the clock. "To ensure the project is completed and that water can be restored to the lake beginning on April 1, we are allowing the contractor to work extended hours," said Mark Becker, media relations specialist with NPPD. The work consists of driving sheet pile at the base of the dam and sawing some of the concrete on the face of the dam, Becker said."
