(HASTINGS TRIBUNE) The Hastings Tribune reports, "For more than a year, Hastings Utilities staff have been working on a plan to address the protection of water coming into Hastings, and now Hastings area residents will have an opportunity to comment on the program.
On Thursday, HU environmental supervisor Marty Stange presented the proposed plan to HU’s Board of Public Works. A public hearing will be held 7 p.m. June 3 to allow time for public comments.
The plan includes various water monitoring and protection programs including the testing of about 700 domestic and irrigation wells in 2010."
