(KEARNEY HUB) The Kearney Hub reports "Wells at three sites along North Dry Creek in northern Kearney County will provide water to augment Platte River flows.
The project was approved at Tuesday’s Tri-Basin Natural Resources District Board meeting in Bertrand. General Manager John Thorburn and streamflow augmentation committee members now can begin negotiating with landowners to purchase or lease the wellfield properties needed.
The project will provide some of the river depletion offsets required of Tri-Basin starting in 2012."
